Course Description:

Owners and managers involved in food and fibre production need to stay abreast of rapidly changing requirements relating to chemical use in their businesses so they can examine how such changes can be turned to business advantage. This refresher programme guides farmers through the implications of changes to chemical use best practice and legislative requirements on their businesses since their last training, the consequences of other changes such as climate, new weed-growth patterns and market issues, and provides a practical framework for long-term sustainability plans. The programme offers an opportunity for robust discussion and information-sharing. Completion of the programme demonstrates to overseas and local markets that growers are maintaining their competency and upgrading their skills by regular professional development. One-day programme to maintain ChemCert WA accreditation for a further 5 years and where applicable meet grower Quality Assurance Programme needs.
