Course Description:

The widespread availability of GPS means that farmers can now target management and inputs precisely according to location instead of applying them in a blanket fashion. This results in significant savings and improved management. This course teaches participants to organise and display spatial data (aerial images, yield maps, topography, EM surveys etc) on their computer so that good decisions can be made when drawing up management zones. The concept of the decision cycle will be discussed, i.e. information gathering / decision making / feedback / review, and how site specific management can result in greater sustainability given a variable climate.
